UPDATE 10.06.20 9:30 PM ET – This story has been updated with new information.
The design of a brand new character in IDW Sonic the Hedgehog has been revealed ahead of Friday’s New York Comic Con online panel.
An excerpt of the new character’s model sheet was unveiled in a short clip published by IDW late Tuesday. It featured artist and writer Evan Stanley answering a question about “the process for creating a new Sonic character.”
Stanley said that new character was named “Belle”.
In the character sheet, the new character appears she can pop out little tools from her fingers. An interesting note is that she shares the same colors as Mr. Tinker from the earlier issues of IDW Sonic.

“She is a robot,” said Stanley. “But she is made out of wood.”
Teased in an upcoming cover
The new character appears to be the silhouette that was teased in Nathalie Fourdraine’s retailer incentive cover for Issue 34. Further details about the new character was not revealed at this time.
The character will be introduced in the upcoming story arc between issues 33 to 36.
