New Sonic Frontiers footage teased ahead of major June events

New footage of Sonic the Hedgehog’s upcoming mainline game, Sonic Frontiers, was unveiled today ahead of a world exclusive premiere by IGN this June.

The footage, jointly released by SEGA and the American entertainment publisher, featured snippets of combat against enemies, as well as what appears to be a boss battle.

More gameplay details about Frontiers is expected to showcased by IGN, starting at 1 June at 12:00 pm ET. Frontiers is widely expected to be previewed at Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest broadcast as well, which will begin at 9 June.

Promoted as an “all new style of action adventure,” Sonic Frontiers will be the blue blur’s first foray into a brand new “open-zone” environment. The upcoming game will be released near the end of 2022.
