Rival Rush, Park Tokens showcased in new Sonic Colours Ultimate Japanese update

Japanese fans got a preview of the new features in the upcoming Sonic Colours remaster.

Following in the steps of early July’s official spotlight trailer, SEGA of Japan today officially unveiled the new features expected to be seen in the upcoming Sonic Colours remaster, Sonic Colours Ultimate.

The Rival Rush mode with Metal Sonic, the Park Tokens in-game currency, and various levels of customizations were all newly featured on the official Japanese website. A number of screenshots and descriptions were also shared.

Rival Rush

Players can go head-to-head with Metal Sonic in a new mode called Rival Rush. As previously explored in the official spotlight, players can unlock rewards by playing the new feature.

Park Tokens

Park Tokens are in-game currency that can be obtained after clearing a stage. It can be used to unlock items, songs, artwork, customizations, and other bonus content in Ultimate, as well as to progress in challenge mode or in Game Land.

Customizations

Players can change the hedgehog’s looks and more in the Option Satellite without affecting their performance.

In addition, by purchasing “Player Icon” from the options, the player can customize the character icon in the progress indicator.


Sonic Colours Ultimate will be released 7 September on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
