SEGA will celebrate Sonic’s 30th Anniversary with “new games and events” in 2021

More details related to Sonic’s 30th Anniversary have been revealed in an advertisement for investors.

According to SEGA in an advertisement for investors, Sonic’s 30th anniversary will go all out with new games, events, and announcements.

Featured in Licencing Source Book Europe, the advertisement showcases the strength behind the Sonic the Hedgehog brand, pointing out the success of the 2020 Sonic film in box office numbers, and how many copies all of his recent assets have sold.

However, the thing that caught most people’s eyes was what it had to say about Sonic’s 30th anniversary for 2021.

A year of celebration – new games, digital content, events, major announcements and a tailored licensing programme.

Even though it is yet to be known if it’s in reference to mainline or to mobile, SEGA’s statement appears to hint that more than one game is expected to celebrate the hedgehog’s birthday. This has led some fans to speculate if a Classic Sonic game and a Modern Sonic game could be on the way, like how it was in 2017 with Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces.

As more details regarding Sonic’s 30th anniversary are revealed, Tails’ Channel will keep you updated.
