SEGA confirms involvement in online video game showcase

SEGA and ATLUS are planned to appear in “New Game Plus Expo”

Sonic the Hedgehog fans are speculating after SEGA confirmed to appear in a online games showcase.

In a surprise unveiling, SEGA announced their participation in a digital-only games event called “New Game Plus Expo”, a one hour showcase of new games from publishers around the world. Sonic was not confirmed to appear, but the optics are quite telling.

Not only are fans speculating that the recently leaked Sonic collaboration with Ninjala may be announced, but the event falls on Sonic’s 29th anniversary, 23 June.

Some in the community raised the possibility of SEGA announcing a major Sonic announcement at New Game Plus Expo. None of this was confirmed, though.
