Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog HD disc release officially anounced

Discotek Media has announced an Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog Blu-ray, its first release in the format for the DiC cartoon.

Discotek Media announced that Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, the first Sonic cartoon ever made, will get a high definition disc release on Blu-ray.

All episodes were confirmed to be released in stereo and “closest to the master video.” Bonus features such as the original pitch pilot for the series, the Sonic Christmas special, production art and commentary on three select episodes with storyboard artist Milton Knight.

The Blu-ray release will feature:

  • All episodes in stereo
  • Closest to the master video the series has ever looked
  • Christmas Special “Sonic Christmas Blast”
  • The original sales pilot
  • Original rushes for the first episode, “Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad”
  • Commentary with artist and animator Milton Knight on two episodes, plus the pilot and rushes.
  • Original Commercial Bumpers
  • Syndication Commercials
  • Art Gallery with rare production art
  • Original packaging art with Jon “Persona” Kim, Chris “Black” Flores, and Brady Hartel.
  • Captions for the hearing impaired

The release will mark the first time a that a Sonic cartoon from DiC Entertainment, now under the WildBrain licencing fold, has been released on the Blu-ray format, with fans eager for a release of the Sonic SatAM cartoon as well.

Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog: The Complete Series will be released February 2022.
