After an early morning leak from an American retailer, Funko has officially announced new Funko Pop! figures for Silver the Hedgehog and Classic Sonic the Hedgehog.

The figures are among the first pieces of upcoming merchandise celebrating Sonic the Hedgehog’s 30th anniversary. Fans can pre-order on FYE, with each piece costing $11.99 USD.
Funko also confirmed that rare variants of the figures will also be on the way. A Flocked Classic Sonic figure will be available on the official Funko website, and a Glow-in-the-dark Silver figure will be available on Hot Topic.
The figures will be released in 2021, at an yet unspecified date. Meanwhile, FYE provisional reported a 2 December release.
Figures accidentally leaked
The official announcement was published hours after FYE erroneously uploaded online listings for the two Funko POP! figures early Wednesday morning.
This is not the first time the figures were involved in a leak. In July, Tails’ Channel, through Funko Pop News, obtained a listing that described provisional titles “Running Sonic” and “Silver the Hedgehog.”
The figures are in celebration of Sonic the Hedgehog’s upcoming 30th anniversary. SEGA is expected to unveil major announcements for the franchise next year, with a first wave of announcements already unveiled in early September.
