South Korean sportswear brand FILA unveiled a sneaker in the style of Sonic the Hedgehog’s shoes. It is the first mass-produced product featuring the iconic kicks in the franchise’s history.
Based on the “Ray Tracer Evo” sneakers, the newly announced kicks were “inspired by the iconic Sonic shoe as seen in the film,” said the manufacturer in a statement published on social media early Thursday.
The shoes contain an embossed FILA x Sonic 2 logo on the front tongue pull and back heel tab, elastic webbing across upper for an easy slip-on, and energized midsole cushioning made of mesh and synthetic materials.
While Sonic’s iconic sneakers have been released in an extremely limited quantity back in 2020 through a collab with The Shoe Surgeon, this is the first time the kicks have been released in a wide commercial scale.
Fans can buy it through the official FILA website, though quantity is limited for select sizes. At the time of publication, it is only only available on the American website. It is not known when the shoes will be sold in other regions.
