LEGO Ideas’ Sonic the Hedgehog set reportedly leaked ahead of official release

An apparent leak of the Sonic Mania-themed set has surfaced online.

The Sonic Mania-themed LEGO Ideas set conceptualized by artist Viv Grannell was apparently listed for sale ahead of the official release early Friday.

News tips to Tails’ Channel suggested that Latin American retailer Mercado Livre has listed the upcoming set in what gaming critic Jordan Middler described as a “leak” before the intended release.

A clear look at the box was showcased, with in it disclosed that the set contained 1,125 pieces.

The project, originally themed around Sonic Mania, was conceptualized by Grannell, also known as toastergrl, in 2017. It managed to obtain more than ten thousand community supporters on its official Ideas page. LEGO later greenlit the set for production, with fans eager for new details.

The seller has not given more details about the set, but it was disclosed that the release was scheduled for 2022. The claim has not been officially corroborated.
