Johnny Gioeli teases fans to “stay tuned” for news of Crush 40 in Sonic movie sequel, though nothing was confirmed

The singer said “stay tuned,” though nothing was officially teased or confirmed.

The lead singer of Crush 40, Johnny Gioeli, reignited the community today after he entertained the idea of his band in Paramount’s upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie sequel.

On Twitter, the musician requested fans to “stay tuned” for news about the much-beloved band’s involvement in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which led fans to believe that Crush 40 may be involved in the sequel. After Tails’ Channel reached out to Gioeli for comment, he later said in public that nothing was officially confirmed.

Gioeli participated in a public campaign to influence Paramount Pictures to feature the band in the sequel. In an exclusive interview in August 2020, the singer said that he hopes Crush 40 will get a spotlight.

I am hopeful that we make something happen for Sonic 2. The fans are already rallying for this. I’m sure the movie studio peeps will reach out this time…

Crush 40, also headlined by SEGA’s Jun Senoue, produced multiple Sonic songs like Open Your Heart, Live and Learn, Knight of the Wind, and Green Light Ride, and participated in the franchise’s 30th anniversary symphony broadcast in late June.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is expected to be released in cinemas on 8 April 2022.
