New Sonic Origins gameplay and details revealed during Japanese livestream

A better look into Sonic Origins has been released via a Japanese livestream held by Famitsu.

A livestream hosted by Japanese publication Famitsu showcased new gameplay in the upcoming classic collection Sonic Origins today.

The livestream, hosted by famous voice actress Shiina Natsukawa, gave a glimpse of what fans can expect, including an animation said to be featured in the title’s story mode.

The stream also got to show a look into the gameplay, sporting a widescreen aspect ratio and additional features, like “mirror mode” in which the levels are meant to be played from right to left, instead of the usual left to right. Other things of note were the character select, the pause menu, and the main menu.

Origins‘ “Museum” area was also shown. The stream highlighted never-seen-before concept art, covers for various IDW Sonic comics, music from different Sonic games from the Mega Drive days, and all episodes of Sonic Mania Adventures.

Sonic Origins is expected to be released 23 June for the Xbox and PlayStation platforms, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
