After its’ announcement all the way back in December 2020, Netflix unveiled a new teaser trailer and posters for Sonic’s next animated series, Sonic Prime.
The trailer consists of Sonic and his friends fighting against Eggman, who has taken hold of a new mystical gem called the Paradox Prism, and the shattering of the stone leading to Sonic being transported to another universe, one where Green Hill finds itself as a dystopian city.
The extended preview gave fans a better insight of the new Canadian voice cast for the characters. It featured Deven Mack as Sonic, Brian Drummond as Eggman, Ashleigh Ball as Tails, Shannon Chan-Kent as Amy Rose, Adam Nurada as Knuckles, and Ian Hanlin as Shadow & Big the Cat.
Brian Drummond himself has some history with the Sonic the Hedgehog brand, being the voice of Knuckles for Sonic Underground.
On the same day the trailer was dropped, posters featuring the characters and a better look into their design were revealed. Minor changes were made to some characters like Amy, while some others, like Rouge, had a bigger change in how they look.

Alongside the posters and the trailer, a release date has been finally given to the animated series, which is expected to be released 15 December exclusively on Netflix. It corroborated Tails’ Channel’s report in September that suggested a mid-December release date.
Sonic Prime will debut in a batch of eight episodes, with the first one being fourty minutes in length, and the rest 20 minutes each.
