The multiplayer action role playing game Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis will commemorate the release of Sonic Colours Ultimate with a limited-time collaboration with Sonic the Hedgehog.
Players will be able to get cosmetics, move-sets, emotes, and collaboration stamps. An exclusive login bonus campaign will include wearables, like a Sonic ear-ring, Sonic’s shoes and Tails’ tails; as well as emotes of Sonic and Tails.

Players can also obtain items by joining various campaigns on Twitter and limited-time tasks in-game. In total, there will be thirteen in-game Sonic items from these campaigns.
Social media
- The official Twitter account, @play_pso2, will give away an item that changes the player’s mag appearance (an mechanical lifeform) to a Tails “doll” if they reach a certain amount of retweets during a Twitter campaign.
- A prize draw for copies of the film Sonic the Hedgehog on Blu-Ray will also be held.
In-game
- Players will be able to get Sonic-related stamps in-game by participating in the team play campaign, and joining an alliance campaign.
- Accessories and motion change items will be available by using ARKS Cash.
- An emote from the premium set campaign will also be available.
The Sonic collaboration in Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis will be held between 1 to 18 September 2021.
