A patch for Sonic Colours Ultimate is on the way in light of reports of catastrophic glitches and bugs, official representatives of SEGA and Blind Squirrel Games confirmed over the weekend.
Sonic Official’s Katie Chrzanowski told fans that the team was aware about fans’ feedback on the remaster, and that a patch is on the way to address these issues.
Chrzanowski requested that fans should send a report to their official support page should they come across an issue. The comment followed reports of players recreating glitches through emulation, a circumstance she described “outside our control.”
Sonic Colours Ultimate’s developer, Blind Squirrel, also addressed the issues found in the title, stating that they were “listening and preparing a patch for release as soon as possible.”
Appreciate all your feedback on Sonic Colors: Ultimate, and the teams are listening and assessing for an upcoming patch. Thank you all for your patience as we dig into this!
Katie Chrzanowski
Players who received early access to Ultimate noted a number of visual and audio glitches, and in Team Tails’ Channel’s case, game crashes and save file failures. It was noted among fans on social media that the Nintendo Switch version of the game was the one most prone to issues.
A release date for the patch has not been made clear. Sonic Colours Ultimate was released 7 September 2021.
