SEGA will be participating in this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, expo organizers at the Electronic Software Association confirmed Thursday morning.
The Japanese publisher will join alongside names like Square Enix, Bandai Namco, XSEED Games, and Gearbox Entertainment; all of whom were all confirmed to join this year’s gaming expo. The expo will be held digitally due to complications caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“E3 2021 is set to continue its legacy as the premier video game industry event as we add new publishers, sponsors and partners,” said ESA CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis.
“We can’t wait to share more details about this virtual event for audiences around the globe.”

The news sparked speculation on social media that SEGA may talk about Sonic the Hedgehog and his upcoming 30th anniversary, which will be celebrated on 23 June. It has not been confirmed what and when SEGA intends to talk about in the expo.
The 2021 installment of E3 will be held 12 to 15 June 2021.
