After the confirmation that a sequel for the successful Sonic Movie was in the works, things went silent for a while, but now, the biggest news update to the movie so far has surfaced.
Thanks to Variety, we now have a release date for it: April 8th, 2022. We also got a title, it seems that the movie will be named Sonic the Hedgehog 2. These news were revealed alongside a new release calendar for Paramount’s movies due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Again, the community is reacting with a lot of enthusiasm to these news, with some already starting countdowns for the release.
The movie’s script is being written once more by Patrick Casey and Josh Miller, with Jeff Fowler returning to direct the film. Tim Miller will be the executive producer. At the moment, the cast hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s very likely the cast from the first film is returning to reprise their roles.
