An internal document that appears to be the programme structure of the 2017 Sonic the Hedgehog panel at South by Southwest was unveiled to Tails’ Channel.
Transcript of the 2017 Sonic the Hedgehog panel at South by Southwest
American digital artist and archivist AstroSeedP relayed to Tails’ Channel and the public Discord server a number of scanned pages and images that gave a detailed breakdown of the panel’s dialogue and deliverables. The scans contained highlighted marks, revisions, and written notes in both English and Japanese. A Tails’ Channel follower presumed it may be a copy belonging to Sonic Studio head Takashi Iizuka.
The archivist told Tails’ Channel that the documents were dropped near a stairway at the Austin Convention Centre completely unguarded, unbeknownst to onlookers, and were moments away from being discarded by custodial staff.
It was bundled up and stepped on so it probably just fell out from one of their boxes or something.

The panel, which was held 16 March 2017, followed up on the Comic-Con party the year before and disclosed new information about Sonic Mania. In addition, the highly anticipated mainline title, then known as Project Sonic 2017 (referred therein as Sonic 2017), was officially unveiled as Sonic Forces.
Unlike the panels that came before and after, the 2017 panel was not officially televised by South by Southwest. An unofficial broadcast from Tails’ Channel, facilitated in part by Sonic Official, remained to be the one of the only taped footage of the event.
