Burger King, one of the largest restaurant chains in the world, produced a video indicative of a planned collaboration with SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, Tails’ Channel understands.
The video, first obtained by the head of Sonic Video Archive for Tails’ Channel, featured the modern looks of Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles “Tails” Prower, and an advertised set of branded toys to be sold with the chain’s “King Jr.” meal. The line included a total of six collectable toys, in addition to a featured “Super Sonic” fidget spinner.

The newly planned collaboration with the blue hedgehog followed last year’s highly-publicized Monster Hunter collaboration in Sonic Frontiers, and a limited time event in Fall Guys. In the United States, it would be a follow up to Paramount’s fast food promotion with Jack in the Box for the 2020 Sonic film.

The fast food chain did not provide a time frame for a global roll out, but Spanish content creator Yuluga Reyens obtained documentation that suggested a late January debut in Spain. Fan site Sonic Paradise, who characterized the official release around the 24th to 25th of January, signal boosted an image that suggested the collaboration is already underway.
Tails’ Channel understood that Restaurant Brands International, the owner of the Burger King franchise, developed the collaboration since the later half of 2022, though they have yet to comment on the campaign on social media.
