IHOP unveils exclusive Amy Rose skin and Sonic the Hedgehog-themed meal offerings

An American restaurant teams up with Sonic to serve a themed menu, a tie-in skin for Sonic Superstars, and various rewards for loyalty members.

Following a leak late March, IHOP and SEGA announced early Monday a collaboration to bring Sonic the Hedgehog-themed meal items, and a Sonic Superstars tie-in, to the menu.

The partnership introduced several new meal offerings, each named after characters from the franchise; and the long-rumoured “Retro Diner Style” outfit for Amy Rose as downloadable content in Sonic Superstars.

Customers can enjoy the Sonic-inspired menu at participating restaurants in the United States and Canada, which will feature six different items:

  • Sonic’s Blue Blur Special: Buttermilk pancakes with double the blueberries, served with blueberry syrup.
  • Knuckles’ Chicken Sandwich: A crispy chicken sandwich with bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese, and buttermilk ranch, accompanied by onion rings.
  • Tails’ 2x2x2: Two eggs, two pancakes, and two bacon strips or two sausage links.
  • Shadow’s Chaos Chocolate Pancakes: A four-stack of pancakes filled with chocolate chips.
  • Amy’s Sweet Strawberry Delight: Vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, and fresh strawberries on a golden-brown waffle quarter, served with strawberry syrup.
  • Dr. Eggman’s Benedict: A dish with black forest ham, poached eggs, and creamy hollandaise sauce.

Meanwhile, the long-awaited outfit for Amy will be available as an exclusive reward through the restaurant’s “Stack Market” loyalty program, where members can redeem “Pancoin” points to obtain the exclusive tie-in.

The skin costs five Pancoin points, but customers will instantly receive five points following a set up of an IHOP account and a purchase equivalent to $25 USD.

Loyalty members can also redeem points to get full game download codes for titles like Superstars for 40 points, Frontiers for 40 points, and Origins Plus for 30 points; though the download codes were specifically restricted to Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo consoles in North America. There was no official word if the retro skin will arrive to other regions via a separate promotional program.

Limited-edition Sonic-themed gift cards can also be purchased, available online and at select restaurants until 5 May 2024.
