Classic Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy will be joining the upcoming Super Monkey Ball title as playable characters.
The four will be included in the game’s six-character SEGA Pass, which provides additional characters with unique stats along with 15 SEGA-themed customization items for the game’s monkey characters.
Besides being playable in both the game’s story campaign and online battle mode, all banana pick-ups in-game will be turned into Rings – allowing Sonic fans and Super Monkey Ball players alike to enjoy the game with a Sonic twist.
All of this content will be released in the months after the game’s launch on 25 June 2024.
Sonic fans may remember that Classic Sonic and Classic Tails were previously made playable in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania in 2021.
As the game remains a Switch exclusive for now, the SEGA Pass will be available on the Nintendo eShop as an inclusion with the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, and on its own as a separate purchasable bundle. Each character can be purchased separately.
